An absolute favorite tree of the whitetail, this strong and sturdy tree is found throughout most of the central to eastern US. With wide sprawling branches and a dense rounded crown, this stately tree is prized for its hard wood, its showy fall color and wildlife value. Long lived and growing up to 100’, the White Oak is tolerant of a variety of soil and environmental conditions, growing best in moist, well-drained loams. Its tasty, low tannin acorns average 0.75″ to 1″ long and are enclosed in a warty bowl-shaped cup. These trees will perform best in full sun.
